A Lucasfilm official press release for the Blu-rays confirms that all six movies are being released on Blu-ray and that the boxed set is coming out Fall 2011, it will include, “documentaries, vintage behind-the-scenes moments, interviews, retrospectives and never-before-seen footage from the Lucasfilm archives.”

When Lucas made the announcement they showed a previously unreleased scene from Return of the Jedi which will be included, Luke constructs his green light saber before going to see Jabba:

Very interesting trailer via ScreenRant.com. Gorgeous CGI and an interesting plot.

“The Cup of Tears follows a scorned geisha who creates a magical cup made of tears that causes any man who drinks from it to fall into a permanent sleep. One night the cup is stolen, setting off a chain of events that threatens civil war amongst the clans. Taro, a gifted samurai, sets out to find the cup and one who can break the spell.”

Cam Gigandet who plays James in Twilight is playing another vampire in his next movie, Priest.

AintItCoolNews.com is giving away tickets to a screening of Moon for Monday June 15th at a theater in Chicago. Moon stars Sam Rockwell and is a science fiction tale of a man working on the moon with no company but Gerty a robot, voiced by Kevin Spacey. After a three year stint mining gas he is set to go home, but two weeks before he is due to leave things start to go wrong.

Couple of highlights from ComingSoon.net: District 9 and will be appearing on the panel appearing in Hall H on Friday, July 24. They better plan that line well.

Clint Eastwood will be opening Invictus in the awards season which stars Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela and also stars Matt Damon. I will not go into details at it involves rugby which is a proper sport that is lost on most of the US population.

The spate of “re-imagining” continues with news that Jason Moore of Shrek:The Musical fame is going to direct the re-make of Valley Girl. Like oh-my-gosh that is such a lame ideah! Moore is not alone in the pilaging of barely warmed corpse of movies-gone-by and is joined by Kurt Wimmer who is writing a new version of Total Recall. Kuato is going to be very unhappy about this.

Sony wants to resurrect H.R. Pufnstuf with a new movie. Will Smith re-does the Karate Kid.

Coming in a close second the Cox kids are looking into wheeling out another dead horse for whipping with a new trilogy of Scream movies.
